Culture’s myths and tales tell us there is more to the world than meets the eye: nature’s supranatural powers, the hidden secrets of our physical environment, and the magical events in the material world. The art of digital photography allows us to explore not only the visible world, but also to create images of its invisible side: the side of shadows, mystery and wide open eyes, as the darkening of the light transforms the green, green grass of home into a mysterious world where the familiar has become strange.
The re-emergence of nature’s abundance at springtime, and the inherent graciousness in such an ordinary thing as the green grass got my attention and prompted me to put to use my camera. I realized that the captured images have an impressive hidden side quite by chance, while editing the first one, and then purposefully explored this creative opportunity to present the natural world from a different perspective.
