Photography has long been a part of my life. It all began with my father’s interest in photography and his passion to document our family vacations. Naturally, I discovered my own desire to share my experiences exploring foreign countries.

The publisher of my first book, a monograph on my academic research in tolerance of ambiguity, wanted to add a more personal touch; therefore, my photos made their first public appearance on the cover.

Since then, I have been exploring the associative link between the text and the image: how the text induces layers of meaning to our grasp of the image and how the image adds depth and complexity to our perception of the text. I believe that contemplation is creation, as our regard goes beyond seeing and even observing to establish a connection between the inner and outer worlds of our experience. Nature inspires me to create. I am also driven to uncover aesthetic forms and patterns in ordinary things, everyday settings, and lowly objects like fading tulips and frog ponds.

I use photography in interdisciplinary workshops and artistic performances, in professionally based initiatives such as the meetings of the “Photography and Psychoanalysis” initiative, and for my own rest and relaxation.
